Account & Security
Is JavaScript required to use WeTheNorth?
No. JavaScript is strictly prohibited on WeTheNorth Market. This is a deliberate security feature to prevent de-anonymization attacks and browser exploits. Please disable JavaScript in your Tor Browser (set Security Level to Safest).
How do I enable 2FA?
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is mandatory for vendors and highly recommended for buyers. You must add your PGP public key to your profile settings. Once added, you can enable 2FA. Upon login, you will be presented with a PGP-encrypted message that you must decrypt to obtain the access code.
I lost my PGP key. Can I recover my account?
No. If you have 2FA enabled and lose your PGP private key, you will lose access to your account permanently. Support cannot reset 2FA for you as this would compromise the security model. Always backup your PGP keys securely offline.
Payments & Wallets
What cryptocurrencies do you accept?
We currently accept Bitcoin (BTC) and Monero (XMR). We strongly recommend using Monero (XMR) for all transactions due to its enhanced privacy features and untraceability.
Is there a deposit fee?
There are no deposit fees charged by the market, but you must pay the network transaction fee. Please ensure you send enough to cover the network fee so the full amount arrives in your wallet.
How long do deposits take to arrive?
Deposits require network confirmations before they appear in your balance. For Bitcoin, 2 confirmations are required. For Monero, 10 confirmations are usually needed. This can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour depending on network congestion.
Orders & Shipping
Do you ship to the USA or Internationally?
Absolutely not. WeTheNorth is a Canada-exclusive marketplace. Vendors are strictly prohibited from shipping outside of Canada. This policy is non-negotiable and ensures the safety of our community by avoiding international customs.
How does the Escrow system work?
When you place an order, your funds are held in our secure escrow wallet. The vendor is notified to ship the item. Once you receive the item, you must mark the order as "Finalize" to release the funds to the vendor. If there is an issue, you can open a dispute, and a moderator will intervene.
What is "Finalize Early" (FE)?
Finalize Early (FE) means funds are released to the vendor immediately upon marking the order as shipped, rather than waiting for delivery. This privilege is only granted to highly trusted vendors with a proven track record. Be cautious when using FE with newer vendors.
Disputes & Support
My order hasn't arrived. What should I do?
If the estimated delivery time has passed, contact the vendor first via the internal messaging system. If they do not resolve the issue, open a dispute before the auto-finalize timer expires.
How do I contact support?
You can open a support ticket from your user dashboard. Our support team is available 24/7. Please do not use external platforms like Telegram or Jabber for support, as these are likely scammers impersonating us.
